New PTR Build changes - Dungeon and Raid ID Extensions

Players can extend a dungeon or raid ID on an individual basis and the ID can be extended more than once is great for casual raiding guilds.  It is going to be a great patch.

New PTR Build 10072 - Changes List - Wowraid
Dungeon and Raid ID Extensions

* In order to allow for parties and raids to progress through instances at their own pace, players can now extend a dungeon or raid ID on an individual basis.
* Existing or recently expired IDs can be extended via the Social tab under Raid by clicking on Raid Info.
* The ID of any instance to which a player is saved can be extended. Doing so will extend the lockout period by the same amount of time as the original lockout (i.e. extending an Ulduar raid ID will add 7 days, a Heroic: Halls of Lightning dungeon ID will add 24 hours, and a Zul’Gurub raid ID will add 3 days to the lockout time).
* An ID can be extended more than once.
* An extension can be reversed on an individual basis provided the player does not do anything in the instance during the extended lockout period that would save that player to the instance.

Blizzard working on some auctioneer features

Just My Two Copper: No More Vendor Searches - A World of Warcraft Economic Blog

Interesting idea by Blizzard to try and keep people from selling items on the AH for less than they can be vendored for.  My guess is that some people will still be too lazy to check the vendor prices on items they auction. Thanks to Markco for the tip

Greedy Goblin Apprentice

Greedy goblin: The first apprentice

Interesting article about Gevlon and how he is going to try and teach someone how to make money who has not been able to make gold before.  I hope this player learns how to make WoW gold and is able to learn what he needs to.

Thanks for the fun blog post Gevlon.

WUU Updater - Addon updater

WUU was updated and it now works with They also fixed the problem with CurseGaming and WoWInterface. CurseGaming will check the versions but you will need to download the files and then update from file.

I have missed having this since 3.1 and it is very nice to have it again.

Book of Glyph Mastery

Hot Item of the Week- Book of Glyph Mastery
The Book of Glyph Mastery is something of a ‘perfect storm’ in terms of profit potential: It’s new, it is extremely rare (for now), highly desired and can be found by just about anyone. Put another way, these books are extremely high in demand while being severely limited in quantity. When we see that formula, we can’t help but think ‘opportunity’ and here are a few reasons why you should as well.

One of the hottest items for sale right now is [Book of Glyph Mastery]. I was going to discuss this but Wowenomics beat me too it so I am linking to them now. I have considered how much this should go for. In our trade chat we had people going up to 4k for it. To make it worth 4k you would need to get a high demand glyph and then be able to sell 40 of them at 100g to get your money back. To me that price seems a little high. I would consider paying 1k for it right now, but in the future the price should probably settle down. Really it probably depends on your server and your luck on how much one of these really are worth. Rather than depend on luck I would probably sell the books until the prices come down.

3.1 Pre weekend results

It has been a great week so far.  On release night I sold glyphs faster than I could put them up.  My server was more shaky than others so it slowed down after an hour - but the sales continue.  I made 3-4k gold on the first night and my inscriptionist only knows about 1/2 the glyphs. I made 20 [Shifting Twilight Opal]s and they all sold for around 20g(first 5 sold for 40g) - I got the gems pretty much for nothing. My [Pristine Black Diamond]s sold for 25g each and I bought them for 20s-1g each. I sold about 20 of these. My [Black Diamond]s sold for 5g each at first, and then slowed down. I bought them for 1sp-10sp each. I am guessing they will keep selling slowly as more people level Jewelcrafting. [Icy Dragonscale]s have not sold many of those since the patterns have not dropped for them yet. I am hoping today the server is more stable and that I can start unloading them. My twink items are selling at a good pace. I stocked up on [Spider's Silk] and so far I have sold a fair amount of items made from that.

I have paid for my dual specs for four characters and made more money on top of that. I think the Glyph market will be good through the weekend and then it will slow down and eventually settle back to pre 3.1 prices - except for the glyphs learned from Book of Glyph Mastery which will probably maintain a 100g price tag for a while. I have not seen one of these for sale or in the AH.

HOW TO - Using LilSparky's Workshop to earn gold with tradeskills

  1. Download and install the addon. Download LilSparky's Workshop
  2. Use one of the supported auction house scanners (Auctioneer, AuctionLite, AuctionMaster, KC_Items/AuctionSpy) to scan the prices at the auction house.
  3. Log on to a character with a trade skill you would like to make money with.
  4. Click on the first column as seen in the image below until the tooltip says using best prices.
  5. Look through the items you can create.  The number on the right indicates how much an item costs to create.  The one on the left indicates how much it will sell/vendor/DE etc for.  If you find an item with low cost mats and high selling price you should consider making them and reselling them.

Does anyone else have other addons they use like this one which makes earning gold at the auction house easier?
